attachments dont open

's Computer Specifications

My attachments always used to open but over the last few days i can't open my
word or excel attachments from outlook (PDF OK) as they freeze the program. I
can copy them and open in word or excel but this is a nuisance. How do I fix
this

I have problems opening word attachements as well -they always open in
microsoft access so any clues would be appreciated.
