I have 2 questions

1. When I attach a .doc file it changes to a .dat file in Microsoft Outlook.

2. When I attach a file in Outlook, it attaches to the body of the mesage
and not below the subject line.

Thanks for your help

I'm pretty sure you are sending mails in RTF format.
Change the setting to send as plain text and both problems you have will be
solved

Changes where? On your end before you send it or on the receipient's end
when it's received? I suspect the latter. You're composing your message in
Rich Text format. Only another Outlook user can read RIch Text messages
properly. Change your message format to Plain Text or HTML.

1. not sure
2. change your email type to HTML. RTF imbeds attachments into the email.
