I have Outlook 2007 and create archive files every year. I wanted to view an
attachment from an email I received last year but I can't launch the file. In
the email it now looks like this: <<filename.doc>>

Is this usual and is there some way of retrieving it?

You used something to remove it or converted the message type. This isn't
normal outlook behavior.

are you sure that was the original message? It looks like it was a reply to
the message, that's how the file like that name usually gets there.
