Then for the internal recipients the attachment is only stored once on the
Exchange server and each recipient have a link to the attachment but shows
as an attached file. The attachment is deleted when the last person deletes
the email holding a link to the file. The file does count for the quota of
every user though.

<nitpick> IIRC: Unless you BCC people, in which case, there's a seperate
copy of the message and attachment for each BCC'd recipient. Also, just to
go down the other road, in the case of multiple Exchange servers, the
attachment will also be stored once per server if that server has a
recipient mailed (gah, is there a better way to say that?). </nitpick>

LOL. If you could clear it up for me, sure =) That never solidified into
knowledge in my head, or if it did, it has since melted (the knowledge, not
my head).

You might enjoy reading this article then;
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb124808.aspx

There is a simple explanation at the top and a longer one at the bottom.

the 'article' was quite enlightening.....however can u suggest a good way to
export messages with attachments from outlook into an access mdb. I tried
importing into ms access.....i got most fields except the attached 'file'.
how do i extract the attached file in an outlook message into an access table.
thanks
