How do I switch to windows media or photoshop for opening pic attachments?

you'll need to set the desired picture viewer as the default for opening
pictures in windows. The easiest method is to check that programs options
and set it to open the desired picture formats. otherwise you need to right
click on each picture in windows explorer and use the open with menu to
change the default application.
