Using Outlook 2003 with Exchange 2003 .. (not using PSTs but direct to users
mailbox on exchange)

This just started happening for no apparent reason.

When creating a new email and then trying to attach an excel spreadsheet,
this error comes up:

cant create file: myfilename.xls. Right-click the folder you want to create
the file in, and then click Properties on the shurtcut menu to check your
permissions for the folder.

The spreadsheet(s) to attache were located on a file share on a central file
server where this user has full permissions. I copied the files over to the
desktop and checked permissions on the individual files and she had full
permissions. I even added full permissions for 'everyone' and 'authenticated
users' just for testing and I would still get the same error.

If I created a text file on the desktop and attached that, I would not get
the error.

TIA,
Jim
