I am totally confused here.
My custumer is sending lots of mails with Outlook 2003 behind Exchange 2003.
A few of theire recipients cannot recieve attachements thus they get the
mail. It is pretty difficult to explain but I found this.

User1 cannot send attachment to recipient1
User2 can send attachment to recipient1
User1 can send attachment to recipient1 if done from OWA
User1 can send attachment to recipient2

Recipients are from the same company but are usin Outlook Express with pop3.

I have tried to change things on the Excahange server as well but with no
result.

Please let me know if you need more information

Make sure the messages are in HTML or Plain Text format when sending to
non-Outlook users (that includes Outlook Express). Rich Text format will
cause problems with attachments on the receiver's end if they're not using
Outlook.

Hi Jocelyn

I deleted the contactperson in Outlook 2003 and typed in the adress
manually. That worked.

It did not help me how to see what settings are set on the Outlook 2003
contact persons. If I make a new person called the same name and adress, the
recipient will not get the attachment.

Regards

Michael

Well, when you are typing in a new message window, the title bar should have
one of three phrases in parentheses at the end -- HTML, Plain Text, or Rich
Text. You choose your default sending format in Tools | Options | Mail
Format. You can also open a contact record, double-click the e-mail
address, and see if Outlook is set to always send to that contact in a
particular format. Finally, if you are using Word as your e-mail editor,
try using Outlook as the editor instead and see if that makes a difference.
You didn't say if the recipients are using Outlook or not, but Rich Text
format is proprietary to Outlook and other e-mail programs can't handle it.

Hi again

Just wanted to say thank you for you precise answer. I have not tested yet,
but I am sure that this is the reason. :-)

And just for the record: I did say that recipient was using the fantastic
Outlook Express ;-)
