Unable to paste attachment from one message to another after source message
is closed, despite responding yes to the system message asking if I would
like the copied data to remain available to other applications.

I need to close the source message due to a work flow scenario that is
rather involved to go into here.

Why not just drag the attachment from the old message to the new one?

Thank you for your reply. The source message is created by a third party app
that somehow doesn't allow me to close the source message or even change
focus within Outllook until I send or close the message. There are work
arounds but they involve more steps. I was able to this in Outlook 2003.
