When I attach a 2007 Word document to my windows live email account the
person receiving gets nothing but gibberish, furthermore it is being saved as
a .docx extension.
Even worse is that when I try to get around it by cutting and pasting into
windows LIVE mail nothing happens when I right click.
HELP!

Hi citi--

I just tried every possibility with Windows Live mail aka "we changed the
name of Hotmail because hey marketing often supersedes the substance or
functionality"--that's why we're lol MSN Live.

1) I created a Word 2007 document. I had no trouble pasting the document
into Windows Live mail and I sent the document to the following emails with
no problem or change in its format:

1) Sent to Windows Live (html) mail
2) Sent to Yahoo (html) mail
3) Sent to Windows Mail that ships with Vista (formerly OE in XP with
modifications)
4) Sent to Outlook

I wanted to duplicate what you want to do so I sent the document as an
attachment. I clicked the Word 2007 Logo aka the "Office Button">Send
to>Send as email and as an attachment:

1) Sent to Windows Live (html) mail
2) Sent to Yahoo (html) mail
3) Sent to Windows Mail that ships with Vista (formerly OE in XP with
modifications)
4) Sent to Outlook

I did not have a problem.

Use of Wordmail:

Send the body of a document as an e-mail message
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...741691033.aspx

Sending a Word document via email using Outlook
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/wo...CH063563061033

Good luck,

CH

All of the Office programs now save docs in a new format by default.
you need to do a Save As and save the doc as a 97 - 2003 format.

ok, when I am in the word documet and try to send, through "the send" button
"send by email" is grayed out, furthermore I want to send it through my
hotmail account and not my windows mail account. When I attach no one can
read my emails, so I'm thinking that
since you are sending it to yourself and have no problems, is it that maybe
to people I send it to don't have vista yet and word 2007?
How about right clicking in live mail, are you able to do it? I cannot right
click!

viti--

I think that if you do this, you'll be able to send a Word 2007 document in
the body of an email. This adds sending a document as an email message in
the body to the Word 2007 quick access toolbar and shows you how to add many
convenient features to the quick access toolbar which can be relocated under
the ribbon if you like:

Send the body of a document as an e-mail message
To send a document as an e-mail message (not as an attachment), you need to
add the Send to Mail Recipient command to the Quick Access Toolbar.

Do the following in these Microsoft Office programs:

Excel or Word
Click the Microsoft Office Button, and then click Excel Options or Word
Options.
Click Customize, and then in the Choose commands from list, click All
Commands.
Click Send to Mail Recipient, and then click Add to add the command to the
Quick Access Toolbar.

..docx is the default file extension for Word 2007. if your recipients are
not running office 2007 they will most likely not be able to open it, or get
gibberish. when saving the document, try and save as an older version of
word.
Also note, Vista comes with some new fonts that may not be present on older
systems. Your friends computers may be replacing the missing font with
another, which could also result in gibberish

The email recipient has to have a version of Word installed on their
computer, and not necessarily Word 2007; 2003, etc, works fine
