What are the Specs on this new computer? Does it have USB2.0? If it
does, get a USB2.0 drive case and use that for your drive, assuming a
new enough OS.

What kind of computer company would void their warranty if the buyer
wanted to upgrade it? I understand why they don't want people messing
with a computer which they have a financial responsibility for, but it
would seem you should be able to get their blessing for the purpose of
an upgrade? Do they expect you to return to them for upgrades as well?

If you are correct, then THAT is something I would ask about before I
purchased a particular brand of computer. My sister recently purchased
a HP computer and it had no such sticker preventing access to the
interior of the case. This should NOT be construed as a plug
(endorsement) for HP!!
