When I open an email in Hotmail the attached pictures display in the body of
the email. When I open the same email in Windows Mail on my Vista system or
Outlook Express on my XP system, the attached photos do not open in the body
of the email. Is there a setting to cause what I want to happen, to happen?

Check these settings in your Windows Mail:

Make sure attachments are enabled:
Tools, Safety Options, Security, uncheck "Block images..." and also
uncheck "Do not allow attachments..."

Also, go to Tools, Options, Read, and uncheck "Read all
messages in plain text".

Sorry Gary, in W Vista Windows Mail, under Tools, there is no Safety Options,
only Internet Options, and under Security tab there is no Block Images or Do
Not Allow Attachments. And there is no Options either in Tools.

1. Gary is usually jumping back and forth between Windows Mail newsgroup and
Windows Live Mail newsgroup. He probably forgot which newsgroup he was
replying to.
2. The TOOLS button in question was the one when you open the Window Mail
program NOT the one AFTER you clicked Create Mail.
3. Now please follow this :
Open Windows Mail > Tools > Options > Security > UN-check BOTH the following
:
a) " Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially
be a virus "
b) " block images and other external content in HTML e-mail "
Click OK.
Go back to Tools > Options > Read > UN-check " Read all messages in plain
text : > click OK
See if this works for you.

Sorry, instead of "Safety Options" I should have said "Options".
It appears you are looking in Internet Explorer when you should be in Windows Mail.
