Several Internet sites offer free ati2dvag.dll downloads but Windows says
it can't install it.

What Program can Install ati2dvag.dll ?

And will this Cure my BlueScreen faulting ati2dvag.dll?
And will this Cure my StopErrors faulting ATI Technologies Video Driver
whose latest Update was (would you believe) 2004?

Thank you,
Jean

Install the latest drivers for your ATI video card. Get them from either
ATI's website or from the OEM's website for your specific model computer
if you have an OEM machine (Dell, HP, Sony, etc.).

Uninstall the old drivers from Add/Remove Programs before you install
the new ones.

This is an ATI Radeon Graphics driver library. Do you need it for your
graphics card? You should not install any binary files if you don't know
what they are or what they do.

Some libraries are called by other executables at runtime. Others (ActiveX
controls for one) need to be registered on the system. DLL files can be
registered using Regsvr32.exe. This is done by typing the following in the
Run dialog.

regsvr32.exe <path>ati2dvag.dll

where <path> is the folder path where the library is located (usually
C:\Windows\System32\). If you are having video problems, I suggest
reinstalling the video drivers for your graphics adapter. Download the
entire update from the manufacturer. Then install it. This is the best way
to ensure that you have the correct version, the files are not corrupted,
and don't contain viruses or other malware.

Malke,

I did all of that a dozen times (& in different configerations) already,
that's how I know that the latest Driver Update is 2004. NO, AtiTechnologies
does NOT offer support and neither does Compaq as my Notebook is 3-1/2 yo.

I even know how to open the ati2dvag.dll which is a module as I downloaded
free software and have even seen the inner contents of ati2dvag.dll but
don't know how to write code.

I believe you totally ignored my original question, Malke. BTW why do people
like you respond when you are only giving rudimentary infomation that the
Poster already knows? Im not being rude; I'm just curious as it simply a
nuisance.

Well, if you had *told* me that you had done "all of that a dozen times"
instead of posting incomplete information, I would have approached your
question very differently.

To answer your last question, people like me respond as they do when
people like you don't post enough information for people like me to help
you effectively.

However, you don't need to worry about people like me responding again
to you again. *plonk*
