Cannot install older ATI All-In-Wonder Pro card without
system crash regardless of ATI drivers and software.
The standard driver supplied with XP does not support
OpenGL but manages to install drivers for everything else
on the card (TV tuner, Capture etc). Both versions of ATI
Multimedia centre will not work with the XP display driver
(in particular the TV tuner). After installation of ATI's
unsigned driver package for this card, the system hangs or
hangs when attempting to run the TV player. Has anyone
else tried installing this product on XP Pro with any
success? The card as mentioned is quite old 4yrs old and
at the time was quite expensive, I dont see why I should
have to buy a new one when this should do the job

If it is any consolation, I have a ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500 DV. I found
that when I installed Microsoft's update DirectX9a, my TV tuner would not
work. I tried all the latest drivers to no avail. To get things working I
did a System Restore, and do not now download DirectX9a.
