Hey guys, thanks for all the great inputs on another thread I posted. So
far, I'm still looking at ATI cards, nVidia's high-end workstation cards
look great but price is too steep for me, besides, I will have to buy a
capture card to work with my VCR.

As for ATI, I'm interested in the All-in-Wonder model in 9800, 9700 & 9600
series, and the non-pro version of these cards are 50$-$100 cheaper. Base
on needs:

high-end 2D graphic design
software environment 3D rendering
DV, video capture/editing from a rather old VCR
scientific apps

Which AWI card would you recommend? I don't really care about watching TV
on PC monitor, but it would be a welcome addition to record fav tv shows
though.

All the AIW cards you mention are excellent and you have them ranked in
the right order.
Take a look at a preview of the 9600.
