I have an ATI Radeon 9200 AGP, and an ATI TV Wonder VE PCI card, and
for the last few weeks I've received the same error about failing to
initialize the TV, check to ensure that the correct drivers are
installed. Well apparently they weren't. The drivers from ATI seem
to be the problem. My solution came in the form of Conexant's BT878
drivers. The ATI cards use this chipset, as do many others. If
you're having problems with your ATI card, I strongly suggest
downloading the drivers from

http://btwincap.sourceforge.net/

Good luck.

I keep getting that same error with my 8500DV. Think these drivers will cure
the problem?

I didn't have any trouble synching the sound. Everything seems to be
working fine, except that ATI's software only lets me capture PAL on
my analog tuner.

I'm sure they will fix the problem, apparently this is quite a common
thing with ATI cards.

And good luck getting a reply from their customer service.
