Hey guys. I just got an ATI TV Wonder VE PCI capture card, and it causes my
system to completely freeze up (running WinXP Pro). This apparently is a
pretty common problem as I've read a lot of people's complaints about it
online, but I have yet to find a solution.

Have you tried updating your ATI drivers from http://www.ati.com
