I installed DirectX9.0b and my ATI ALL IN WONDER 9700
RADEON graphics card tv tuner stopped working. I installed
the MS fix. I could tune in the channels, but on selecting
them, after a few seconds the audio/visual disappears into
static. I have installed the latest graphic card drivers
but I still cannot watch the TV channels. My supplier has
suggested using my XP recovery disk and resetting the
machine back to factory settings, but this is not an
option as it will wipe out all my software abd data.
What should I do next? TIA.

Download and install the latest MMC drivers from www.ati.com

Sorry can't help but just wanted to let you know that it CAN work - and,
IMHO, it's worth the effort. I have two systems with 9700 AIW running under
Win XP with only minor problems. Needless to say that the ATI diver/MMC
installation process can be trying - does the "PC Check" routine run OK?

Curious about the "I installed the MS fix." What was that?

It would have been this one

NTSC-J, PAL, and SECAM TV Tuner Hotfix for DirectX 9.0b on Windows 2000,
Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003 (KB825116)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
