Just seen this strange problem on a friends system with Radeon X850XT and
Belinea TFT Widescreen DVI. Apparently he updated his graphics drivers and
was also running some benchmarking when the message your graphics card is
overheating lowering performance appeared. Soon after that he lost his
display and after reset No Video.

So he connected a CRT via VGA port and no video and also to a Viewsonic TFT
via DVI no video then put another video card in the system and no video. In
the end he decided the motherboard ABIT Fatality was dead and sent it back
under warranty. He couldn't wait for it to be tested and returned so he
bought the ASUS equivalent of the Fatality and tonight we installed that.

We had no operating system installed on the system at this stage and we
again got no video when we powered on connected the Beliena Widescreen TFT
DVI so he connected straight into without the Viewsonic TFT DVI w/o
powerdown and no video - then he reset the machine and we got video on the
Viewsonic TFT - strange was there something wrong with the Belinea ?

So he disconnected the DVI cable from the Viewsonic and plugged it straight
into the Belinea Widescreen TFT without switching the PC off and got video!
(able to access BIOS etc). So he reset the PC and again no video at power
on. He then connected to the Viewsonic and got video everytime he powered
on. He connected the Belinea to another PC and he got video everytime at
power on.

So we knew there was some strange problem that we couldn't figure out but
wondered if it was the monitor or the video card. After installing Windows
XP 64bit and ATI catalyst drivers via the Viewsonic becuase of the problems
with the Belinea we decided to connect to the Belinea again to see if it
would work but again no video at power on connected to this PC with the
Radeon X850XT. However Windows XP booted and when the graphics drivers
initialised the Belinea sprang to life leaving him to log onto Windows!

So now everytime he boots the PC with the Radeon X850XT he has no video unti
ll Windows XP graphics drivers have initialised at log on. Strange! the
Belinea works fine connected to other video cards and the Viewsonic TFT
works fine connected to the Radeon X850XT it always used to bootup connected
to the Belinea fine untill he had the problem I first mentioned.

So its def the X850XT but what could have happened that would cause this
problem on Belinea TFT but work ok on Viewsonic TFT but both work fine
connected to other graphics cards.
