ATI Radeon Mobil

My Toshiba Satallite 1905-S303 with the ATI Radeon Mobil
card started blue screening with a stop error 0x05 after
one of the Microsoft patches. I've tried installing the
latest (as of 2 weeks ago) Microsoft certified display
driver as well as a third party display driver for the
above mentioned card.

My laptop still crashes several times a day with the same
stop error. From research I did a couple of weeks ago I
narrowed the problem to the ATI driver. No body else with
this same problem has mentioned or noticed that the
problems started after one of the recent (3-5 weeks ago)
Microsoft patches.

My hardware hasn't changed, nor has any other software.

Any suggestions?

I am having the same crappy problem. I have an ATI
Mobility Radeon 9000 and every time I use a game that
requires 3d acceleration, they will randomly crash back
to the desktop. I also get the blude screen every couple
times. I have been looking all over the internet for ways
to fix it but I can't find anything. I tried using some
different drivers, didn't work. Tried reverting to
directx 8.1 instead of 9.0, didn't work. Tried disabling
the ACPI embedded controller, didn't work. I am starting
to get really annoyed with this.

If you have a notebook PC use ONLY the drivers from the notebook
manufacturer's website and not from Microsoft or from ATI. Notebook
manufacturers have their graphics chips individually configured.
