I seem to have a dim recollection of reading about this issue before. I
believe the problem was with the VIA chipset on the motherboard, though it
was a rather rare complaint.
Download the latest VIA 4-in-1 drivers from
www.viatech.com, and for your
video card (with the matching control panel) from
www.ati.com.
Uninstall your current ATI drivers and control panel using the add-remove
software control panel in Window. Reboot into standard VGA, ignore the
Windows prompt to install new drivers, and then runn the ATI applets to
install first the drivers and then the control panel.
Reboot again, and then run the VIA 4-in-1 installation program, making sure
you check the AGP driver and install in it "Turbo" mode for 4X.
