I have ATI AIW 2006 card on my XP box. ATI Media Library lists
all the TV programs that I recorded in .vcr format, which can
show closed-caption with ATI File Player.

I wish to convert or export these .vcr file to another more
popular format, like avi, mpeg, or mpeg4 with the closed-caption
exported too. So that when I view the avi or mpeg or mpeg4 file
with a video viewing program, I would still see the
closed-caption. Possible?

Or is it possible to simply record a TV program in a format that
would embed the closed-caption on the recorded video? Even if I
have to use another non-ATI software.

According to forum posts, the AVIVO video converter can read VCR files. Give
it a try and see if it will handle closed captioning.

Download the cracked version of AVIVO (which works on all vid cards) here:
