When I boot up cold all my graphics are garbled up.. But after 2-3 reboots it runs fine. Even the motherboard splash screen is messed up on cold boot. Just started doing this a few days ago. I've had the card 2 months..

have you tried vacuuming out your power supply ?

after two three times (you don't say what your OS is) Windows XP pro will "sort out" any
conflicts it has (most of the time). like the 9800 could be walking over the network card
or sound card, on boot up - your bios info could be different than what windows wants to
do radically (how is your bios battery). One way to tell about your bios, is to unplug
the PC from the wall, then with this box off - go to the mall or something, then come back
and plug you PC back in. IF your bios is zeroed (no big deal - it'll just re pnp) then you
should be able to see if it can't hold the bios info (dead batt). ** note: if you do try
this - go into your bios and write the settings down, so you might have to manually put
then back in. especially if you like to tweak the bios. If you have extra pci slots try
moving one of the cards i mentioned (big time assumptions here) just assuming these would
be standard fare for todays PC's.

you power supply could be marginal - you don't say what your wattage is. I have a 450watt
and a 500 watt server power supply in my PC's.

Before you do anything, double check to see if the Video card is tightly in
place? Not sure if it is try pulling it out and placing back in until you
hear a subtle click into place. Make sure the Monitor cable firmly in place
as well?
