hi I noticed that my AV flags a tracking cookie that I cannot remove at all
from atdmt.com
I have had it since windows defender updated last on 23rd I think and
googling shows that adtmt is a part of microsoft.
Can you confirm this and explain it a bit more please, and if you can tell
me how to remove it if its not needed.

I run vista 32 bit and use FF3 and IE both have the cookie blocked.

Thanks

I can't confirm it, but I believe that it is possible--Microsoft is making
increased use of cookies.

It would be interesting to know what app has the cookie open, or why it is
that you can't remove it--Microsoft or not, this should be possible. I'm
not sure what tools might help you determine this--Sysinternals comes to
mind--I believe one or more of their tools will allow you to see what
process has a file locked or open, and determine the executable related to
the process.

What AV?

Might this be a false positive?

Thanks Tom,
I checked the site but I cannot find atdmt.com listed in my IE file.
Ccleaner finds it but when you go to delete all the temp files atdmt.com is
never listed as one it removed.

Hi Tugga,

Try This i quote from somebody named Robert:

click start menu/select run/type regedit in search box/click on my
computer to highlight it/on the menu at top of page click edit/scroll
down to find and click it/type atlassolutions in the search box/in the
menu that appears you will see a folder named atlassolutions.com/click
on this and the values show up on the right side of the page/double
click on each value shown and delete the values that show up in the box
that comes up/when you finish this go back to the folder atlassolutions
in the left column right click on it and select delete

you will also see a folder above it named atdmt/deleted its values in
the same manner and then delete the atdmt folder. prest, gone.

I tried that and I dont have that in my registry
but when I searched for atdmt i found this
http://i289.photobucket.com/albums/l...eese/atdmt.jpg
so it seems to be in my MSN live account
so does this mean it is apart of microsoft and if I delete it it will stop
my MSN?
or is my MSN infected?

Hi Tugga,

I got the same in my registry, so nothing wrong there!
So i think it is a false positive!
I use Trend Micro and did not flag me about it.
So report to AVG about it.
Let me know what you find out.

I mentioned it to AVG but as adaware and SASW also flag it they say its not
a FP but it is a tracking cookie.
Do you know if there was a update to Microsoft recently that might have
contained it?
and if I delete it will that destroy my MSN?
