The video I want to use for my powerpoint presentation ends in .asx I want to
only use a portion of it. How do I edit it

I would transcode the ;asx file into a avi or wmv file (using SUPER free)
And then use WMovie Maker to cut

You might want to give PFCPro a try. It comes as a fully functioning two
week trial so it will cost you nothing to give it a try.
www.playsforcertain.com It will convert the file to something more
compatible with PowerPoint and allows you to edit the video directly in
PowerPoint.
