Your monitor came with some kind of software and you might want to check that first. On the M.S. KNOWLEDGEBASE this problem is not a rare one and I believe it picks on NVIDIA cards more than others. Also the CHIPSETS on your new motherboard make a difference. In your BIOS SET UP SCREEN there is a tab for power management and this should be checked to ensure it is not timed for shutdown on the video. According to M.S. K.B. SUPPORT, there are several motherboard types and chipsets that prevent monitor "wakeup". You might check they're listing under compatible hardware. One other ghastly thought, motherboard or CPU overheating. Intel boards and AMD CPUs have that reputation. Do you have enough cooling fans in your unit? Is the CPU-fan running? Last ugly thought.P.S. |

Hi,
well i did play arround with taking out different hardware in my pc and installig em 1 by 1...for the moment it didnt restart like b'4,but i did get 1 blue screen of death! Multiple_IRP_Complete_Requests i think it was with my DXR3 dvd mpeg card...as it hav beta drivers for xp...creative never released a final one...but b'4 i didnt hav any of such problem with my old motherboard (ASUS CUV4X) on winxp... can it be incompatible with SIS chipset? or somthing, cause old mobo was a VIA chipset... Linda can you please tell me if you installed any "SIS agp drivers for the motherboard" ? if yes which version? thnx, i||uSi0n^ "Malak Naser" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message news:3f62b359$0$24125$(E-Mail Removed)... > hi, > > well i got exactly same driver version and bios version...i'm thinking of > trying in my old geforce 2 card in this pc and see if it solves > problems...if yes then its prolly my new geforce fx card...if not i'll be > putting out all cards and run em 1 by 1 to try and catch the problem. > > any kinda advice is totaly welcomed! ![]() > > thnx, > i||uSi0n^ > > "linda" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message > news:2bb401c37972$bd0993e0$(E-Mail Removed)... > > The newest nVidia driver is 4.5.23 go here: > > http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_45.23 > > My bios is ACPI Bios revision 1004 10/02/2002 and is > > the most up to date. > > >-----Original Message----- > > >hi, > > > > > >Linda: > > > > > > i dnt got any power saving options on for monitor or > > even for the pc,well i > > >do suspect also the device driver thing tho, can u tell > > me which nvidia > > >drivers you use and what bios version you got? > > > > > >Millard: > > > > > >i dont got any option on in bios for video, as for the > > Chipset its a SIS > > >648, its a pentium 4 and theres no fan probs as its a > > new pc, just been one > > >months now,my motherboard sensors read: > > > > > >CPU @ 36C > > >Motherboard @ 44C > > > > > >which i think is normal temp..i would sure like to know > > more about that > > >"monitor wakeup" thing, about my motherboard and nivdia > > problems...if any'1 > > >of you could please shed more light on it. > > > > > >thnx, > > >i||uSi0n^ > > > > > >"Millard" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message > > >news:082101c378f3$ee4b6390$(E-Mail Removed)... > > >> > > >> >-----Original Message----- > > >> >PC SPECS: > > >> > > > >> >Intel Pentium 4 3.0 with HT > > >> >P4S8X-X mobo with HT > > >> >NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 8x agp > > >> >Creative SBLIVE > > >> >Creative DVD-Encore 12x kit with dxr2 mpeg card > > >> >LG 52x24x52x Cd-Writter > > >> >WD 80 HDD > > >> >Sony HMD-A220 CRT Monitor > > >> >550 Watts power supply > > >> > > > >> >My Problem is that everything works fine on the > > >> >motherboard but in windows the monitor will straight > > turn > > >> >off (go to standby mode) and not turn back on. NO, I haven't installed any SIS AGP drivers. The driver
version I am showing is 6.1.3010.0 and I believe it is a windows driver. >-----Original Message----- >Hi, > >well i did play arround with taking out different hardware in my pc and >installig em 1 by 1...for the moment it didnt restart like b'4,but i did get >1 blue screen of death! > >Multiple_IRP_Complete_Requests > >i think it was with my DXR3 dvd mpeg card...as it hav beta drivers for >xp...creative never released a final one...but b'4 i didnt hav any of such >problem with my old motherboard (ASUS CUV4X) on winxp... > >can it be incompatible with SIS chipset? or somthing, cause old mobo was a >VIA chipset... > >Linda can you please tell me if you installed any "SIS agp drivers for the >motherboard" ? if yes which version? > >thnx, >i||uSi0n^ > >"Malak Naser" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message >news:3f62b359$0$24125$(E-Mail Removed)... >> hi, >> >> well i got exactly same driver version and bios version...i'm thinking of >> trying in my old geforce 2 card in this pc and see if it solves >> problems...if yes then its prolly my new geforce fx card...if not i'll be >> putting out all cards and run em 1 by 1 to try and catch the problem. >> >> any kinda advice is totaly welcomed! ![]() >> >> thnx, >> i||uSi0n^ >> >> "linda" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message >> news:2bb401c37972$bd0993e0$(E-Mail Removed)... >> > The newest nVidia driver is 4.5.23 go here: >> > http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-2k_45.23 >> > My bios is ACPI Bios revision 1004 10/02/2002 and is >> > the most up to date. >> > >-----Original Message----- >> > >hi, >> > > >> > >Linda: >> > > >> > > i dnt got any power saving options on for monitor or >> > even for the pc,well i >> > >do suspect also the device driver thing tho, can u tell >> > me which nvidia >> > >drivers you use and what bios version you got? >> > > >> > >Millard: >> > > >> > >i dont got any option on in bios for video, as for the >> > Chipset its a SIS >> > >648, its a pentium 4 and theres no fan probs as its a >> > new pc, just been one >> > >months now,my motherboard sensors read: >> > > >> > >CPU @ 36C >> > >Motherboard @ 44C >> > > >> > >which i think is normal temp..i would sure like to know >> > more about that >> > >"monitor wakeup" thing, about my motherboard and nivdia >> > problems...if any'1 >> > >of you could please shed more light on it. >> > > >> > >thnx, >> > >i||uSi0n^ >> > > >> > >"Millard" <(E-Mail Removed)> wrote in message >> > >news:082101c378f3$ee4b6390$(E-Mail Removed)... >> > >> >> > >> >-----Original Message----- >> > >> >PC SPECS: >> > >> > >> > >> >Intel Pentium 4 3.0 with HT >> > >> >P4S8X-X mobo with HT >> > >> >NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 8x agp >> > >> >Creative SBLIVE >> > >> >Creative DVD-Encore 12x kit with dxr2 mpeg card >> > >> >LG 52x24x52x Cd-Writter >> > >> >WD 80 HDD >> > >> >Sony HMD-A220 CRT Monitor >> > >> >550 Watts power supply >> > >> > >> > >> >My Problem is that everything works fine on the >> > >> >motherboard but in windows the monitor will straight >> > turn >> > >> >off (go to standby mode) and not turn back on.
