Since 2 days I get the P4p800 ASUS MB Logo come on and it stays on for a
long time (more than 1 minute).

I never had this before, when my WINXP PRO computer would boot right into
Windows Welcome and then the desktop.

How can I fix this?

I see nothing in the Startup folder re ASUS.

Should not happen nor is it expected to happen unless bios
setup has been lost or if the bios had been recently flashed.
For the former, the CMOS battery is usually suspect and might
as well be replaced.

I really don't understand why people think times such as this are a problem.

I'm with you. When I get up in the morning, I turn on the computer, then go
get my coffee. When I come back, it's done booting. I don't know how long it
took and I don't care.

Well not all people are the same.
Some want speed, best performance, no delays.

But if that is not for you, fine. You do not have to answer then.

Speed and performance have nothing to do with how long it takes your
computer to start. The point I'm making is that if the speed of the computer
isn't otherwise an issue, it seldom pays to worry about startup time.

In this particular instance, I answered Frank, not you. And I'll answer
whomever I feel like answering, thank you very much. If you don't want to
read my messages, simply use Outlook Express's "Block Sender" feature, and
I'll be gone.
