Turn off and unplug the PC. Install the drives. Put the jumpers of both new
drives to "cable select" (other combinations won't work) and using the
single 80 pin IDE ribbon cable connect the 2 drives and plug the long end of
the cable into the Promise IDE slot on the motherboard. You then need to go
into the BIOS and set the Promise IDE controller to RAID instead of IDE.
Upon rebooting, the promise screen comes up and you use Ctrl-F to get into
the RAID array setup. Use the automatic option for performance (RAID 0).
You will need to select the drives to be used in the array, in this case you
pick the WD 120's. Once completed, reboot.

If the RAID drives are your only boot drives you will have to re-install
windows xp (have the promise driver diskette on hand as you need to use this
during the windows installation)

If you have a 3rd IDE disk as your boot drive, you will need to install the
RAID drivers from ASUS and format the RAID drive array.

I have the same configuration and you can expect 50-60 MB/s read and writes,
compared to 30-40 in std IDE.
