ASUS M2N-SLI deluxe BIOS update: no go!

OK I tried downloading the latest BIOS (1002) from the official site for
this ding-dong board and flashing it, but I am being told the size of
the file doesn't match the size of the existing BIOS.

I tried flashing a different version of the BIOS and it too refuses to
co-operate.

I created a DOS boot disk, put AWDFLASH.EXE and the new BIOS (1002.bin,
also tried 0904.bin) on a second floppy, and everything went fine -
copied old bios, etc. - until it was time to write the new version of
the BIOS. Then it just says "Nope".

I sure would like to update the BIOS, but I can't seem to find a version
of it that the motherboard will accept.

There is no write protection setting in BIOS that I can find. I
normally would enable it when I first build the machine, and I normally
know where to look... I don't think it's that.

Any thoughts?

Oh! Thanks but how weird. It's not like I didn't try their official site.

Lesson learned: Don't upgrade your BIOS just because you have to have
the "latest". Look at the change log for the update, and unless you're
having a specific problem addressed by the update, LEAVE IT ALONE.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
