Asus K8V SE deluxe - boot loooong wait

Hi,

on a PC with a motherboard Asus K8V SE Deluxe the booting process stops
and waits about a minute (!!).

The boot process detects all (HDs, DVD, etc.) but after writing "00 USB
mass storage devices found" (or something like this) it hangs for about
a minute (!), then it continues and Windows XP boots.

Is there a way to avoid this very long boot wait?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

Shot in the dark (I have an A8V, not a K8V).
Check in your BIOS and confirm that unused SATA/RAID controllers (those with
no devices attached) are disabled.
