Yep, you need native 64-bit drivers actually, right now, it looks like it is
not supported. You should contact 3COM about support for Vista x64. I would
file a driver request in the mean time using the following links:

Tips for how to file a problem report

Here are some things to consider when filing a problem report:

Please file your report as soon as possible after you find a problem. The
sooner we hear from you, the sooner we can investigate and try to fix the
problem.

Please provide a brief, descriptive title. The title is the first thing we
see when we get the report, so a succinct, clear title will help us
effectively identify and prioritize the problem.

Please provide enough detail in the description for us to understand the
problem. The more detail you can provide, the better.

Please provide the steps we can follow to reproduce the problem. Any
incorrect or missing steps can prevent us from being able to reproduce and
address the problem.
If you have any supplemental files, screen shots, etc., that will help us
investigate the problem, please attach those to your report. Seeing a
picture can sometimes help us identify the problem more quickly.

Hi there,

I was just wondering if anyone has managed to get the NIC of an Asus K8V
Deluxe motherboard (3COM 3C940) working in Vista? I can't find any relevant
drivers on Asus's web site, I presume I need special Vista drivers and that
standard XP drivers wont work? I'm using Vista x64 too. Thanks loads in
advance.

Nick.

You could try the Windows XP Pro x64 drivers and see if they work (no
guarantees). The drivers I offered were for the 32-bit version which is only
compatible with Windows Vista x86, sorry, those were XP x86 drivers though,
so there should be hope for you yet.

Hi Andre,

Cheers for the link, I shall try to remember to use it if I come across
anything strange. BTW, can I use any Windows 64bit drivers? or do they have
to be specifically for Vista? My sound card has some Windows 64bit drivers
available, but it doesn't mention anything about Vista... Cheers for your
help.

Nick.

Hi Andre,

BTW, I just noticed further down that you offered someone the drivers
I'm after, or do you only have the 32 bit ones at hand?

Nick.

I tried the Windows XP Prof 64-bit drivers and they do not work and cause the
system to fail.

Seems like it won't work until someone makes one.
