Well I was going to purchase the card mentioned in another thread I can't find. But why pay for something when you can get it for free ?
Another mate gave me THIS for free as I had done him a few favours in the past. So far so good, went in without a glich, Drivers instaled and updted. GTR runs sweet as, as do Quake and Doom... Can't beat free can you ?

OK so much for this card and all going fine...Everything seemed ok when I installed this afternoon, but allas, not tonight. When playing GTR- Evolution and COD its like the sound is stuttering. This has only starte since installing this card...I have checked drivers and they are all upto date. I use onboard sound so no driver issue there. Also since installing the card I have noticed any shorcuts on my desktop are showing as in the image below...



Any ideas good people ?

Hi MadX,
I know that my icons sometimes show them little boxes....this happens when a drive or memory stick is unplugged.
When i restart with drives plugged in they come back to normal.
Probably no help though, cos the sound wouldn't be affected. I think.

I know what you mean..I have an external USB drive which I have shortcuted to desktop. When I remove it it shows the same sort of pic. Thois is a different issue though.Even after restart its the same..Not much worry though. I donm't normally have shortcuts on me d'top
