I'm running the same Combo as you do.
Make sure you have the latest Bios (1009-6 Beta did a lot of good for me)
Is your processor a 0.09 Winchester?
Get CPU-Z if you dont have it, it will tell you everything about your CPU:

If yes, you are in for a treat. This CPU is OC friendly. I've read people
running it at 2995mhz
I don't use the AI feature, I have set the stuff manually.
Voltage and Frequency
Do not touch what you don't know in there! Educate yourself first.
I run it at 240x10 (2400mhz), it is rock solid with default CPU voltage
(1.4v).
Me too I had Geil sticks, my machine wouldn't boot with them. Even with
default setup.
So I got rid of them.
Then I got myself some nice
OCZ PC3700 2.5-3-3-8 Dual Channel Gold Edition Rev.3 and now I'm in love.
I think I'm going to marry these sticks.
They get average ratings on P4 but impressive reviews on the AMD64. It looks
like they were made for AMD. Good bang for the buck too.
My OCZ's are rated at 2.8v and this is what I use for them.
On air, my CPU never goes above 45C. (Well ventilated and good heat sink)

Bottom line (for me)
240X10 2400mhz (max 45C)
1.4v Default CPU voltage (so far so good for me)
2.8v Memory Voltage as prescribe by OCZ (Look in your manual)
1.6v AGP My Radeon x800 XT was no longer stable at 1.5v once the board
OCed
If you think you will be happy with 2200mhz (10% increase) then why do you
bother with OCing your machine? 10% is not something you will notice much.
