Asus 865PE Neo2-P - AGP Graphics not working?

I have an Asus 865PE Neo2-P supposedly new out of the box (a friend gave
me), with a Pentium 4 3Ghz processor and a PowMax LP-7700E 400 watt power
supply, etc. After installing it into my ATX-style case then turning the
machine on, the CPU fan, power supply fan, a case fan all seem to be working
just fine, I get no beeps, yet I get no signal to my monitor.

I've tried a couple different monitors and yes - obviously plugged them in
and turned them on, etc. I just get the typical "No signal" message on the
monitors. I even tried unhooking everything (power and data cables to hard
drives, cd, dvd drives, etc.) and just having the bare necessities - DDR
memory (PC3200 400 DDR), an AGP video card (even tried two different ones
that worked in an identical Asus 865PE Neo2-P motherboard I had before)
and, of course, the fan/CPU - still nothing?!?

I even (with the machine turned off) cleared the CMOS and then reset it.

Any help would be appreciated, or is the AGP slot defective?

Thanks.
