We have a data acquisition application, and the user
suspects that Windows 2000 "periodically goes off and does
something else in the background" causing milisecond delays
in catching the results of a monitored (by the data
acquisition program) event. We have disabled anti-virus,
disconnected from network, stopped a bunch of unnecessary ?
services. Is there any way to give a particular application
priority over all other events - i.e. system services. Or,
what are the absolute minimal services that can run without
causing problems with Windows
