I am having difficulty opening my doc file documents in Word, either from
email or from My Documents. I have tried to use the "Open With" to assign
the file type to open in Word, but Word does not show as an option. When I
browse and choose Word, nothing happens. I tried the Solution given by Frank
Saunders, but it did nothing for me. Any suggestions?

Rightclick the listing for word or office in Programs and Features in
control panel. "Repair"

I found Office 2007 in the Programs and Features. I repaired it, but still
unable to open in Word. It's as though Vista does not recognize that it the
programs in Office have been installed.
