Assigned Tasks in Inbox "completed" but not under Tasks tab

when i view the assigned tasks in the task tab it shows as not being
complete. I originally thought it wasn't being accepted and completed
correctly by the assignee but this is not the case. The task shows can be
viewed as "accepted" and later "completed" in my inbox as indicated by the
applicable icon. But when i switch to my tasks all of the assigned tasks
aren't updating and show they are still incomplete..Help! how Do i fix?
