Assign xml map programmatically

With the XML Source panel open (Data->XML->XML Source...), I can drag a map
onto a sheet, e.g., dataroot to A1.

When I try recording this action as a macro, the macro is empty.

How can I programmatically (vba6) associate a map (e.g.,
ActiveWorkbook.XmlMaps("dataroot")) with cell A1?
