An ASRock motherboard was recently installed in my computer in place of a
dead mother board. It does have an Intel chipset. Is ASRock a good
manufacturer? Or is it on the cheap?

I heard it was related to Asus in some way , their cheaper division or
something. I dont know if thats true though. Ive also heard they were
OK. Havent seen anything really bad about them but ive never used one.
The only company I feel a bit leery about is ECS and any boards on
that level that is related to them --- Jetway, Pc chips, etc.

Cheap, but not horrible, you could do worse. Hopefully you
weren't charged premium price for it, often shops use those
or similar to generate more profit.

It's working well so far (after 3 weeks!). It's faster than my old Dell
mother board. Thanks for the input. I was not charged premium price, but I
hope it does well. I would have preferred to pay premium price for a top of
the line one.
