Today I created an ASR backup to an external usb hdd as well as the required
floppy. XP Pro SP2 fully up to date with patches. So far, so good.

It just so happened that I needed to actually do a restore later in the day
and when the ASR got to where the restore was located ( H: drive in my case)
it said it could not locate the H: device.

How do I tell the ASR restrore process that the backup is located on the
external usb hdd?

Must also mention that the XP Pro CD was pre-SP1 (original distro ). I
also didn't realize that the ASR restore process formats the boot partition,
so I have a pre-SP1 XP Pro setup if that matters.

What I need is for someway to tell ASR restore that the backup is located on
the H: drive; ( external usb disk). Can do?

TIA,

Dave...
