ASPNET credentials keep on resetting

It seems that most if not all ,NET updates reset the ASPNET password on the
server. Is there a way to install a service pack or upgrade without it
resetting the ASPNET user password?

What are you using the ASPNET credentials for? In normal operations, it
should not matter. And, no, if the updates reset it, I know of no way to
stop it.
