does anyone out there know if Windows XP has an aspi
driver. getting error message when I try to open MyDVD.
It says unable to find aspi manager. I read somewhere
that XP doesn't come with one and wondered if that is
true.

Found a program called "force ASPI" that will replace the aspi layer and
back up the current one. I think this may have come from 321studios. It
seems to install the latest aspi layer from Adaptec and helped with a small
DVD software problem I was having.

A few months ago I started doing video converstion work,
to get my home video's tapes into digital format. The app
I was using needed ASPI drivers, and they were not
detected on my XP machine, so I had to track them down on
the internet.
I think I got them from Adaptec, but a search on the
internet should do it.
