ASP.net and IIS 5.1 issue

I am new to this so this may be a simple problem.

When I view .aspx files from http://localhost, none of my
controls show up on the page. I am using VS.net to draw
some controls such as buttons, list, etc. on the page,
but the page comes up empty when I debug. Classic .asp
pages display fine through the localhost.

I have already tried reinstalling VS.net and IIS. I am
running XP pro.
