Configuring the Remote Desktop Connection to use an alternate port on a
Windows XPe SP2 thin client fails. All it does is hang there and say
"Connecting to 111.122.222.111..." but it always never does. I've tried at
least eight different things on two thin clients running Windows XPe SP2,
but it they both failed to connect using an alternate port. We have a
Windows 2003 Server running Terminal Services and other Window XP Pro SP2
computers connect to it fine. And of course I've also searched the internet
and Microsoft's website intensely about this problem, but have failed to
find anything that resolves it. The only thing I have found from Microsoft
is an article condoning that - "A Terminal Services client can exist in a
variety of forms. Thin-client hardware devices that run an embedded
Windows-based operating system can run the Terminal Services client software
to connect to a server computer running Terminal Services." Any help will
be appreciated.
