I'm asking the same question as others, like James. I need to know that my
mail has arrived at the right place. I can deal with not getting a read
receipt initially, but I would like to know that my stuff hasn;t disappeared
into the ether.

Nothing will guarantee either a delivery receipt (generated by server but not all servers support them) or a read receipt since recipients can ignore them or their mail client does not support them. Call them instead.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, Ann T asked:
