When I reply to a message the tiny envelope should then
have an arrow on it indicating that the message was
replied to. Is there a setting in Outlook for this?

Gary,

In response to your question please do the following:

1. Open Outlook and go to your Inbox
2. Right-click on the field bar (e.g. where subject, received, from is etc...) and choose 'Customize Current View'
3. Now click on the 'Fields' button
4. In the 'Available Fields' section on the left choose 'Icon' and press 'Add' now press 'OK' then 'OK' again.

You should now have your little envelope icons back and also the ones with the purple arrows on them.

Cheers!
