Arrow button for task bar

Hi:
I have lost my arrow button at the task bar , and would like to put it back .
Any help obn this would be appreciated.
I right clicked task bar , properties , checked hide inactive icons, but no
results.
Have group similar icons , and keep taskbar on top checked.
Using Windows XP Professional.
