Just tried out Arovax Shield.
It's a simple little "Anti-Spyware" program that reminds me of Win Patrol.
Seems redundant for MS Anti-Spyware (MSAS) users.
It's memory resident, and runs in the Systray. It automatically blocks (or
notifies) on finding browser hijackers, BHO's, tracking cookies, registry
changes to the "auto start " section, executable file associations, and
HOSTS file.
I can see where it would be useful. If you use a non-resident anti-spyware
scanner, Arovax could be used as resident protection.
It has a neat, compact UI, and is stable so far.
Download size is 1.1mb. Memory footprint is pretty big for such a small
program, 18.6K.
Bottom line, it's not a keeper for me. However, I think it could definitely
fit some protection schemes, and suit some tastes.
