About:
Ark Linux is a desktop linux distribution that is aimed primarily at new
Linux users. It is intended to be extremely easy to use while still being
technically sound.

Changes:
Numerous features (including graphical bootup, recovery from bad XFree86
config files, ATI IGP support, VIA EPIA-M support, and a better network
card config tool) have been added, several bugs have been fixed, and many
packages have been updated.

Release focus: Major feature enhancements
License: GNU General Public License (GPL)

i have a question, would it be possible to release a @200 megabyte version
linux that includes KDE3 gui ,PLEASE , i cannot download linux releases that
are 600-700 megabytes, im sure there arelot of people in the same boat.

Same here, on dial-up its very difficult.

People from germany can write to me. Please put Knoppix in subject,
because otherwise the email will be deleted.

I send Knoppix to you for free or I give you the adress of a Linux User
Group nearby.

I think there will be people nearby you which will help you in the same
way. Just look in a linux related newsgroup and ask for it, somebody
will help you.

i went to the arklinux website and i thought yes,this looks perfect fora linux
newbie, then i went to the downloads page and BAM!, 700megabytes, oh well,add
this to the list of linux distrobutions that i wont be downloading.

there are several Linux distributions that fall into this category.

have a google for 'Damn Small Linux' and 'Puppy Linux'

both are sub 50Meg (puppy is <25), boot from the CD and run in a ramdisk
(won't overwrite your existing install - ala Knoppix)

They can be installed to your HDD, but you might want to try them out
first...

at last, a small distro of linux that has a decent gui,its not KDE3.1 but puppy
linux looks ok,thankyou.
