right i was just on the internet on google and i clicked on a webpage but then exitited it and then AVG thing popped up threat detected and bla bla..does this mean i have a virus NOW !!??

If you got the warning from AVG, then you're probably ok in this instance. It's the times when you DON'T get a warning that you have big problems.

For spyware I'd try www.malwarebytes.org

For AntiVirus I'd try www.kaspersky.com (they'll let you run it 30days free, so you can at least check your system with a top notch AV product) Go download the kaspersky installer, then unintall AVG, then install Kaspersky. Do it in that order so you're not going to webpaged nekked.
