Arescom NetDSL 800, MSN Broadband and NdusbMsn.sys Stop errors?

In the month that I've had my MSN Broadband account I've had 4 stop
errors (blue screens, system halts). The culprit seems to the
NdusbMsn.sys device driver. It is a driver for the Arescom NetDSL 800
DSL modem that came with MSN Broadband.

Here's the pertinent information from the Blue Screen:
NdusbMsn.sys - Address F8906DEA base F890600, DateStamp 3bd2a28a

My computer has a clean Windows XP Pro SP1a install, all the latest
BIOS and driver updates and even the update for the Arescom modem
(http://www.arescom.com/Arescom/Aresc...her/MSNfaq.cfm).

When I call MSN's support, they tell me they've never heard of this
problem before and to contact my computer manufacturer (huh?). I'll
email Arescom, but I have a feeling they'll just tell me to contact
MSN. Eventually I'll just switch to using the ethernet connection, but
right now I have to use USB

Is anyone else getting these Stop errors?

No. Of course, I'm not using the USB connection, I'm using the Ethernet
cable. The NetDSL 800 is not supposed to be able to be messed with
according to MSN and Qwest, my ISP here. I have been told that there are no
downloads of any kind available for the modem, all settings have be
optimized at the factory. As far as dealing with tech support at MSN . . .
all I can say is I hope to never have to do it again. I'm going to check
out the link you have provided to see what is up with Arescom. Good luck!
